When I heard about the Criminal Zoo, I couldn’t have written my congressman fast enough. I wrote about the lasting effects that bastards’ actions would have on me. I advocated for why we needed to send this fucker and the others like him to the Criminal Zoo. Then I begged for the opportunity to explain why we needed a CZ in our community to protect its citizens. I was ignored, taunted even, as to why the great state of Montana will never house such a savage institution. These people didn’t get it, they couldn’t, they didn’t go through it. They were the reason so many victims stay victims. The missing resources misallocated funding. The lack of intelligence is a major factor, empathy and courage are a fraction of fallacies the system has. The callousness is bred and so is the ignorance. The system never had justice in mind, just votes, and revenue. I’m not sure if the whole group equaled a single brain. They didn’t have nightmares or cold sweats. They didn’t hyperventilate at the mention of a name. They didn’t have to renew the restraining orders. They didn’t have the health issues, the mental breakdowns, the sporadic and unhealthy relationships. OCD, depression, addiction disorders. These things people like me endured day to day weren’t part of their day-to-day. Waking up, contemplating why wondering if it got better. Perhaps that was the only reason I stayed, wondering if tomorrow would be better. Perhaps I would never know, what I did know is I needed to go to the Zoo. The Zoo had access to the people that I demanded answers from. The Zoo offers a different level of justice that my hometown doesn’t.
